Our ten-year anniversary trip that we had saved for and dreamt about since our honeymoon finally arrived! Moorea absolutely did not disappoint. After researching several islands in French Polynesia, we chose Moorea because (1) it is an easy ferry ride away verses another flight from Papeete and (2) it has beautiful, lush inland with mountains, waterfalls, and hiking along with the ocean that French Polynesia is famous for.
We scheduled a good mix of activities and down days to relax. Snorkeling at our resort was a highlight. The jet skis were probably our favorite, because it was a very small group. We were even upgraded to a much longer tour since we were willing to take an earlier tour in the day! My husband hit some HUGE waves when we went outside the reef… while I clung on in the back! We were able to visit the sandbar with stingrays and black tipped sharks on both ocean tours and loved getting to interact with these amazing animals.
